Six million acres. Three rivers. Ten years of showing up.
About
The 232 Partnership unites land stewards, organizations, and communities to restore the forests and waters that sustain us all. This work doesn't belong to any one organization. It exists because people keep coming back to the table.
Tribal governments, local non-profits, researchers, federal agencies, and community members all working across the headwaters of the Rio Grande, Rio Chama, and San Juan River.
Our WorkImpact
Since 2016, members of the 232 Partnership have worked collaboratively across six million acres to protect and restore the forests and waters of the Rio Grande and San Juan watersheds.
The facilitation of the partnership is funded through the U.S. Forest Service. The work itself is funded through federal, state, and corporate dollars that individual partners bring to the table. Explore our monitoring data, collaborative surveys, and CFLRP reports for the full picture.
Impact, Mapped
The 232 Restoration Activity Tracking Summary (RATS) map compiles non-federal forest and watershed health projects contributed by implementation partners across the landscape going back to 2018.
Together with federal treatment data from TWIG, RATS gives a comprehensive picture of restoration activity across the 232 geography.

Who We Work With
The 232 is made up of federal agencies, tribal governments, state agencies, local non-profits, and community organizations. The executive committee provides leadership and direction across all 24 partner organizations.
State governments and land offices in both Colorado and New Mexico play a growing role in this work. If your agency is exploring cross-boundary collaboration on forest and watershed restoration, we would welcome the conversation.
